Reference Services Support

SUMARI

SUMARI and PACES are available to Library patrons through the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI).

  • The System for the Unified Management, Assessment and Review of Information (SUMARI) is designed to assist researchers and practitioners to conduct systematic reviews. SUMARI supports 10 review types, including reviews of effectiveness, qualitative research, economic evaluations, prevalence/incidence, aetiology/risk, mixed methods, umbrella/overviews, text/opinion, diagnostic test accuracy and scoping reviews. SUMARI facilitates the entire review process, from protocol development, team management, study selection, critical appraisal, data extraction, data synthesis and writing your systematic review report. Essentially, it is a word processor, reference management program, statistical and qualitative data analysis program all in one easy to use web application.
  • Practical Application of Clinical Evidence System (PACES) is a user-friendly online tool that makes it easy for health professionals to conduct efficient, timesaving audits in small or large health care settings. PACES offers online support to facilitate a process of change in relation to the use of evidence in practice on a given activity or intervention. PACES users select from a range of topics with predetermined, evidence-based audit criteria, and collect the data, either directly or from a printed data collection tool downloadable on line.

How to log into SUMARI through the institutional Ovid subscription:

Patrons will need to have personal Ovid accounts to access SUMARI and PACES, which you can create those on your first visit to both tools.
